There are so many fun and unique events coming up in the Ogunquit area this April and you won’t want to miss out. There’s something for everyone this spring and we’ve gathered some of the most anticipated for you so that you can plan your getaway.
Easter excitement starts early on April 1st with Sandy Hill Farm’s Easter Egg Treasure Hunt—just a 30-minute drive from the inn. BYOB (basket) and hop on the one-mile trail to collect eggs of all colors. Turn them in at the end for a goodie bag of cider donuts and other treats!
The Ogunquit Playhouse doesn’t open until May, but that doesn’t stop them from putting on shows at the Music Hall, located just a short 25-minute drive away in Portsmouth, NH. We’re really looking forward to the Million Dollar Quartet, which tells the story of December 4, 1956—the night that Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, and Carl Perkins, got together for one of the most famous jam sessions in history. This fabulous show is hosted there the first week of April with multiple show times to fit into your schedule.
Just a quick 20-minute drive away, The Dance Hall in Kittery is hosting a Miles Davis tribute show on Saturday April 8th that is sure to knock your socks off. Listen to This—a new eight-piece band honors the electric sounds of Miles Davis and recognizes his influence in the world of jazz.
Enjoy one of Maine’s favorite comedians Bob Marley (no, not the One Love singer) at Jonathan’s Ogunquit Upstairs Listening Room on Thursday April 13th. He has been featured on Comedy Central and is one of the few comedians to complete the late-night circuit—The Late Show with David Letterman, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Late Night with Conan O’Brien.
Celebrate and get your karaoke on at Mainestreet’s Anniversary Party on April 14th. This is northern New England’s largest gay club with two dance rooms, two outdoor decks, and three bars. This is the spot to let loose and have a good time.
The Marine Mammals of Maine organization is hosting a beach clean-up in honor of Earth Day on April 22ndat 9am on Wells Beach. Give back to Mother Nature while enjoying the scenic views she has to offer.
Another wonderful way to celebrate Earth Day is with Ogunquit Parks & Recreation at the Main Beach in Ogunquit. Bring your kids for this fabulous Seashell Painting event the morning of April 22nd from 10am-2pm.
